Regis is remembered as a talented gymnast who was proud of her Ukrainian and Nova Scotian heritage. She used her skills to teach children and give back. She volunteered at her church and was a well-known pillar of her congregation. The 29-year-old is survived by her mother, father, three sisters, one brother and 12 nieces and nephews.

Growing up Renee was my best friend in Brantford. As the years past we didn't keep in contact with our busy lives. My heart broke when I opened the newspaper and read her name. I love you and miss you Renee.

Mother of Karen, Peter and Steven. She was beautiful, sassy and smart. Bridget had the biggest heart and accepted all into her family with open arms and unconditional love.

James Linwood Rich Jr. of Chestertown passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016. He was 52.
James was born on Dec. 27, 1964 in Easton, the son of the late James L. Rich Sr. and Anna Johnson. He was raised by the late Ervin and Mildred Stanford in Sadesville, near Sudlersville.

James attended Queen Anne's County High School, where he played baseball and football and wrestled. He also played Little League baseball for the Sudlersville Wildcats. He graduated from Queen Anne's County High School in 1983. He then went on to attend Lincoln Technical Institute to study auto mechanics. James played semi-pro baseball in Delaware. His previous employment included Washington College and Bramble's before working as a custodian for Kent County Public Schools, beginning in August 1989. He worked very hard in the school system over the years and became the head custodian at Kent County High School.

"Jim," as he was called by many, enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting baseball cards and antiques. He also played men's softball and flag football in local leagues. His love for baseball and football stretched throughout his life and into the lives of his sons, in which he coached selflessly to better their game and become their strongest fan. Jim was a very helpful friend and family member to many in his community who needed someone to fix things, run errands or complete chores.

Johnny was my cousin. He told the nurses at the hospital that he was my moms son so that he could be the first to see me. He was my best friend.

Although my mother was named after her mother; Angenita, Maria told everyone that my mother was named after her. We still call my mother Maria to this day.

Trynie had a head of gold. She was a mother to Henderikus and Tammy and a foster mother to many. Trynie loved to order whatever she had her mind set of, off menu when at a restaurant!

Ahmaud Marquez Arbery, aged 25, graduated from Brunswick High School in 2012. He attended South Georgia Technical College during fall 2012 and spring 2013 to pursue a career as an electrician. He frequently jogged for exercise in and around his neighborhood. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was humble, kind and well mannered. He always made sure he never departed from his loved ones without an “I Love You”. He had a smile that would light up a room. He loved to tell jokes, to elicit laughter and had a beautiful personality. He enjoyed downtime with his family and friends. He loved sports; basketball and football were his top choices. He was quite the athlete and chose to wear the football jersey #21, which was passed down from his older brother, Marcus, Jr. Ahmaud was among the graduating class of 2012 at Brunswick High School. He later attended South Georgia Technical College in Americus, Georgia. He is survived by: his mother, Wanda Cooper Jones; father, Marcus Arbery, Sr.; one brother, Marcus Arbery Jr. of Brunswick, Georgia; one sister, Jasmine Arbery of Albany Georgia; two loving nephews, Marcus, III and Micah Arbery; one godsister, Seneiyah Brown; grandmother, Ella Cooper; ten aunts, Bertha Waymer, Nellie Bea Eldridge, Bessie Dix (Paul), Linda Ellison (Keith), Debbie Dixon, Kimberly Cummings, Ruby Preston, Diane Jackson (Ulysses), Evon (Henry) Lakes, and Theawanza Brooks; six uncles, Jerome Holmes (Regina), Inus Holmes, Terry Holmes, Micquell Cooper, Gary Arbery (Carla) and William Arbery (Marva); and a host of cousins and friends

Sandra Annette Bland (February 7, 1987 – July 13, 2015) was from Naperville, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and was one of five sisters. She attended Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Illinois, then Prairie View A&M University outside Hempstead in Waller County, Texas, where she was a member of the Sigma Gamma Rho sorority. She graduated in 2009 with a degree in agriculture. At Prairie View, she was recruited as a summer counselor for three years, played in the marching band, and volunteered for a senior citizens advocacy group.

Bland returned to Illinois in 2009. She worked in administration for Cook's, a food-service equipment supplier, a job she left not long before her death. She had been due to start a temporary job on August 3, 2015, with Prairie View as a summer program associate.

In January 2015, Bland began posting videos about many subjects, including police mistreatment of black people. In one post she wrote, "In the news that we've seen as of late, you could stand there, surrender to the cops, and still be killed." She has been described as a civil rights activist in Chicago, and a part of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Soft-spoken, gentle-spirited India was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, niece, aunt, cousin, sister, true friend, gifted visual artist, self-taught musician, U.S. Navy Veteran, U.S. Postal Service letter carrier.

India loved sharing, explaining, and teaching others the things she learned.

India was spiritually enlightened, artsy, introspective, long-suffering and patient. Quiet strength and kindness characterize her.

Antwon Michael Rose, II was born on July 12, 2000 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the young son of Michelle Kenney and Antwon Rose. Antwon was well traveled and he has resided in many states including Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. He attended Woodland Hills Senior School where he participated in the gifted program, took on and excelled in honor courses and had the IQ of 120. Antwon loved to play basketball, surf and skate in his free time. He played the saxophone in the jazz band at his high school and was a active volunteer, Antwon got his first job at Pittsburgh Gymnastics Club and has worked at Joe and Pie as well as Domino's Pizza. Antwon enjoyed skating and was a member of the Switch and Signal Skate park where he made a lasting impression on the staff and other members whom he came in contact with. Antwon was a beautiful, bright, charming and generous person and volunteered his time and service to the Freestore in Braddock, PA. He is preceded in death by his pap pap Reginald E. Kenney, his grandmother Dorinda Kaunt, aunt and uncle Ronna and James Burke, Sr.

Antwon leaves to cherish his parents Michelle Kenney and Antwon Rose, his sisters Kyra Jaimison and Tiona Rose and niece Ky'Chelle Dudley and nephew James Blackburn Jr. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother Dorinda Kenney, Pap Paps William Early and Francis Keys and paternal grandparents Larry and Charlotte Tarpley and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and unforgettably his bro's.

Hadiya Z. Pendleton was born June 2, 1997 in Chicago, IL to Cleopatra and Nathaniel Pendleton. Hadiya was a sophomore and a honor student at King College Prep High School. She was family oriented, loving and an outgoing young lady. She was a majorette, and played on the vollyball team for her school. She was shot in the back and killed while standing with friends inside Harsh Park in Kenwood, Chicago after taking her final exams. She was killed only one week after performing at events for President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. First Lady Michelle Obama attended the funeral for Pendleton in Chicago.

Eric Garner was a horticulturist at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. He was married to Esaw Garner, and was described by his friends as a "neighborhood peacemaker" and a generous, congenial person. He was the father of six children, had three grandchildren, and at the time of his death had a 3-month-old child. He was murdered by the police on July 17 2014.

Lalika and Árpika were both born in Andód, (today Slovakia) and died in Bruno, (today the Czech Republic). They were half-brothers of my mother. They died young.

Based on my recollections of my mother’s description, they had strong love for each other and a desire to take care of and pay attention to each other. My mother hoped they could understand each other's worries and joys so that they could support each other when needed—to accept love from each other in oder to grow.

Ferenc Czuczor Jr., Born and died in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. He was my cousin; always cheerful and light-hearted. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the chance to have more of life, he died young.

Ferenc Czuczor is my mother's brother. Born in Andód, Slovakia died in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. He was a big, strong, and cheerful man. He protected and loved his family; we felt safe around him.

Sándor Erdős is my father. Born in Polgár died in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. I was his only child, he wasn’t part of my life, he didn’t know how to. He didn’t learn how to love or how to take care of me. He didn't learn how to take responsibility for his actions in his life.
